A warm welcome to our multidisciplinary practice in the heart of Rivonia that caters for both young and old.
Dr Melanie Sweidan offers treatments for any functional or medical condition, based on the principles and practice of natural medicine, “do no harm”. The primary focus being on the individual, and not on the disease, and the acknowledgment of the remarkable ability of the body to self-regulate and heal. Treatment protocols first and foremost are aimed at improving a patients quality of life and include the use of chiropractic, homeopathy, nutritional and lifestyle advice and rehabilitation, which is tailored to the unique individual needs of each patient.
We are all unique in our biochemical, psychological and physical makeup and hence will have a unique expression when illness arises, and a unique expression when healing occurs. That’s why emphasis is placed on the empowering process of recovery, as it can provide a unique opportunity to understand yourself better. Experience has culminated in a practice that caters to the total wellbeing of the patient and hence a wide spectrum of modalities are offered that aim to be the most curative, least invasive and drug free.
Dr Sweidan holds masters in homeopathy, chiropractic and Chinese acupuncture. She is an avid writer and has written numerous health related articles for print media and has lectured in both anatomy and physiology and is a qualified trainer for biopuncture, a very specific injection technique.
“Practice is my life and every patient is different and it is my responsibility to honor that difference and keep my eye on the ball so that I can facilitate better care.
My interest in medicine is broad and ever growing, since starting practice in 2007, I have naturally gravitated towards an integrative approach to oncology, pain management and chronic disease as well as the emotional counselling that I feel so fortunate to be a part of.
My niche chiropractic market is very much associated with scoliosis, and I am currently developing a more neurological approach to its management, expanding on the more traditional biomechanical model.
From my homeopathy side I thoroughly enjoy auto-immune type conditions, and patients seeking out drug free options for their ailments. Allopathic medicine and complementary medicine work wonderfully together and it’s our responsibility as practitioners in whatever discipline you find yourself in to encourage your patients to take charge of their health. “
